Add-On Details - Bharti AXA Smart Drive Private Car Package Policy

Under this Add-on, the Company pays the full claim without any deduction for depreciation in the event of an accident. (Excludes Tyres and Batteries)
Under this Add-on, Company ensures that upon a theft or a total loss to the car, the insured gets the purchase price of the car including road tax and registration charges.

Special Conditions applicable to this benefit-

a) Company shall agrees to pay the “shortfall amount” between the amount received under Section I of the policy and the price as per the purchase invoice OR the current replacement value of the Insured’s vehicle if the same make model is available, whichever is less.
b) The Insured vehicle is not more than 2 years old on the date of commencement of the policy period.
c) The Total loss/ Constructive Total Loss (CTL) or Total Theft of the Insured vehicle should be admissible under Standard Motor Package policy.
d) Insured should be the first registered owner of the Insured vehicle.
e) Vehicle insured should be indigenous.
f) The bank/finance company whose interest is endorsed in the policy shall agree in writing.
g) First Information Report issued by the police authorities, needs to be submitted with the company in case of a theft of the insured’s vehicle.

Special Exclusions

a) Any electrical/non electrical and electronic/non electronic accessory(s) including any bi-fuel kit forming part of the invoice but not insured under Standard Motor Insurance policy.
b) If the Insured vehicle is recovered within 90 days of the theft.
Under this Add-on, Insured can get full value of claims on items like nut and bolt, screw, washers, grease, lubricants clip, ac gas, bearings, distilled water, engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, break oil, etc. these items are either totally consumed or rendered unfit for further consumption arising due to accidental damage, the expense would be borne by Insurance Company.

Special Conditions applicable

a) The cover under this add-on will be available only for the vehicles upto the maximum age of 5 years.
b) For any claim to become payable under this add-on, it should be admitted under Standard Motor Insurance Policy –“Loss or damage to the vehicle insured” of the Policy.
c) All such costs to be supported with proper bills/invoices only from Garages authorized by the company.
d) Such repairs to be undertaken within three (3) days of date of loss.

Specific Exclusions

a) Repairs/Labor bills from Local Garages against these items.
Under this Add-on, the Company agrees to pay for losses arising out of repair or replacement of engine parts of the Insured vehicle due to Hydrostatic Lock and ingression of water in the engine.

Special Conditions applicable

a) The insured should be the First Registered Owner and Insured vehicle should not be more than 5 years from the start date of the cover.
b) Repair or replacement in the Company Authorised Garages across India.
c) The insured vehicle should be used only for Private Purpose (as per the terms and conditions of the policy schedule) and in case of Transfer of ownership, cover will cease.
d) This cover would be subject to an ‘admissible claim’ under the Standard Motor Package Policy (with immediate intimation for retrieval of vehicle from water-logged area).
e) In the case of replacement of the engine, submission of Invoice should be within 15 days from the date of loss for Endorsement in the Policy.

Specific Exclusions

a) Depreciation in case of Replacements needs to be borne by the insured himself.
b) Manufacturing defects or irregularities previously known by the insured.
c) Losses consequential in nature but not a result of “Water Damage” and normal wear, tear or negligence.
Under this Add-on, even if there are up to 2 claims made during the policy period, the company would assign same No Claim Bonus percentage.

Special Conditions applicable

a) The No Claim Bonus will get reduced to NIL in the case of more than two claims in a period of two consecutive years.
b) Subject to No Claim Bonus confirmation from the previous insurer in case NCB Declarations given by the Insured
c) Applicable to Private Car policies alone, with Comprehensive coverage only.

Specific Exclusions

  • The cover will cease to operate after one claim wherein the claim is not admissible.
  • In case of transfer of ownership the cover will cease with effective date of endorsement.
Under this Add-on, the Company would assign No Claim percentage which is one slab lower than the No Claim percentage mentioned in the policy even if there are up to 2 claims made during the policy period.

Under this Add-on, the Company agrees to pay the total outstanding loan amount on the vehicle insured as mentioned in the schedule or actual amount outstanding at the time of claim whichever is lower, if the insured of the vehicle dies due to bodily injury caused by accidental, external, violent and visible means while traveling in, embarking or disembarking from the insured vehicle during the policy period as mentioned in the schedule for which a valid claim under the Policy is admissible.

Specific Exclusions

a) Any arrears on loan amount including any interests payable on such arrears as on date of an accident.
Under this cover, the Company provides cover for Rs. 1,000 per day for a maximum of 30 days to support day-to-day expenses for those who sustained injuries by an accident while travelling in the insured’s vehicle and are admitted in the hospital. This coverage starts from day 1 of the admittance into hospital.
Under this Add-on, the Company allows for reimbursement of the medical expenses following any treatment for bodily injury caused by an accident while travelling in, embarking or disembarking from the insured vehicle. This cover applies to all passengers travelling in the car.
Under this Add-on, the Company allows for reimbursement of charges towards transportation of insured persons in the ambulance to the hospital post suffering bodily injury caused by an accident while travelling in, embarking or disembarking from the insured vehicle. The cover applies to the insured persons travelling in the car.
a) Repair Services for Minor Breakdowns
If Insured vehicle is immobilized whether at home or on the road for a minor breakdown (definition of “minor” being a breakdown that can likely be fixed within a period of maximum 30 minutes with no need for a specific spare part to be replaced unless immediately available at company mechanic’s workshop), company will dispatch a mechanic that will attempt to fix it on the spot/side of the road.

b) Vehicle relocation to the nearest garage in case of Major breakdown.
If the attempt to remobilize the Insured vehicle fails following a mechanical or electrical breakdown, a recovery vehicle can be sent to Insured, which will collect the laid-off vehicle and take it to the nearest dealer or garage to proceed to the repair at the workshop.

c) Changing of Flat tyre
If the tire(s) has (have) a puncture which immobilizes the Insured vehicle, the company can send a mechanic that can help to replace the punctured tyre, provided that the driver does have a spare tyre in a shape of order. If more than one tyre is punctured, while there is only one spare tyre per vehicle, the immobilization may be necessary by the time the tires are being repaired or replaced at the drivers’ expenses at the workshop.

d) Assistance in case of Lockout/ lost keys
If Insured has lost the vehicle key or locked it inside the vehicle, company can dispatch a mechanic at the location of the incident and help the insured either unlock the vehicle without damaging the vehicle or, whenever and wherever possible, help to make a copy of the key or arrange delivery of key set from Insured’s place of residence. The cost of replacement of the key will be borne by the insured.

e) Arrangement of emergency fuel in case the vehicle runs out of fuel.
If the Insured vehicle has run short of fuel, company can dispatch a mechanic with an emergency tank of fuel. The cost of fuel will be borne by the insured.

f) Alternative Transport assistance to the nearest safe location for the passengers of the vehicle
If the Insured vehicle is being laid-off, company can dispatch an alternative transport to the passengers of the vehicle and take them to the nearest safe location. This arrangement will be taken forward on a referral basis, and all costs are to be approved and borne by the insured.

Special Conditions (applicable to all coverage)

a) All additional expenses regarding replacement of a part, additional Fuel and any other service which does not form a part of the standard services provided would be on chargeable basis to the insured.
b) The territorial scope of the Roadside Assistance Services provided will be 50 kms. radius of any office of Bharti AXA or city under coverage network of AXA Assistance, in the Republic of India, excluding islands.

  • Normal Wear and tear and general ageing of the vehicle.
  • Depreciation or any consequential loss.
  • Mechanical/ Electrical breakdown.
  • Vehicle being used otherwise then in accordance with limitations of use.
  • Damage to or by a person driving the vehicle without a valid license, under the influence of drugs or liquor.
  • Damage due to war, mutiny or nuclear risk.
