How do I file a health insurance claim?
Health insurance claims can be made two ways - reimbursement claims and cashless claims.
Cashlessclaim: when you want to make a claim on a cashless basis, you must avail medical treatment from a network hospital.
- Planned claim- in case of a planned claim, you would need to fill up a pre-authorization form, which you can get from the hospital desk or the tpa's website, a few days before the treatment.
- Emergency claim:In the event of an emergency claim, see to it that you carry kyc of proposer and policy copy to the hospital's tpa cell. You will need to fill up the pre-authorisationform and submit it to the tpa cell.
Reimbursementclaim:If you want to file a claim on a reimbursement basis, you need to submit all the required documents like the original bills to the insurance company. The treatment must be covered by the policy, if you are expecting a reimbursement; otherwise you do not stand to receive any benefits.
