What is the objective of old age pension schemes under NSAP?
Under the old age pension scheme (ignoaps), those senior citizens who live below poverty line will be receiving a regular non-contribution pension that will help them take care of the essentials of life.
The national social assistance programme (nsap) has launched a national policy with a number of schemes to aid the financially underprivileged group. Currently, it has the following schemes:
- Indira gandhi national old age pension scheme (ignoaps)
- Indira gandhi national widow pension scheme (ignwps)
- Indira gandhi national disability pension scheme (igndps)
- National family benefit scheme (nfbs)
- Annapurna
With these schemes, the programme aims to provide the basic national standard alongside the current benefits that the state is providing or planning to provide in the future.
