How to intimate travel claim with United India Insurance

Details required for Registration/ Intimation of Claim

To register a claim/seek assistance through the above contact points, the following information has to be provided to the customer support executive:-
  • Name of treating doctor
  • Name  and contact of hospital
  • The omp policy number 
  • Date of policy issue

Points to Remember

  • Assistance service provider is to be intimated in the event of any treatment, non intimation may invalidate the claim. 
  • Cashless will be extended for all in-patient treatments only when service provider is intimated & pre approval obtained (as per policy T & C)
  • OPD Claims  & claims other then In-Patient will be reimbursed upon return to India.
  • Policy does not cover traveling abroad for obtaining medical treatment & travelling against medical advice.

List of Documents

Medical and Emergency expenses / Hospital benefit / Personal accident (including additional travel, Accommodation expense),following documents must be enclosed with your completed claim form:

  • Original certificate of insurance together with any copies of airline ticket original bills or receipts for full amount of claim (photocopies not acceptable)
  • Confirmation by hospital of dates of hospitalization (for claims for hospital benefits) death certificate (for compensation claim of death by accident)
  • Disablement certificate and police report (for personal accident claim)
  • The medical certificate does not need to be completed for minor accidents or illness physician’s report (Original attached to the policy if applicable)
  • These documents must be supplied with the completed claim form at the claimant’s expense.

Loss of checked in baggage, baggage delay on outbound flights

  • Original certificate of insurance (photocopies not accepted unless it is an annual policy) airline tickets
  • Any available receipts for the lost baggage. If unavailable supply any other documentation which could assist in giving proof of value, for e.g. valuations, sales literature, etc.
  • Original of all written reports received from carrier. If verbal report only was made please specify
  • supply property irregularity report and copies of your correspondence with the airline
  • If claim is for delayed baggage, please supply property irregularity report and letter from carrier confirming reason for delay and duration of the delay

Loss of passport

  • Original certificate of insurance (photocopies not accepted unless it is an annual policy)
  • Airline tickets
  • Police report
  • Bills and other supporting documents for obtaining emergency travel document whilst abroad.

The treatment is to be intimated with respective service providers within prescribed timelines.

All prescriptions, investigation reports & medicine bills are to be kept handy.

The claim file is to be prepared with ref to check list & to be submitted upon return to India.

Duly filled claim forms along with all necessary documents are to be submitted within prescribed timelines.

Insurer will inform about any deficiency within 7 days.

Post receiving of all required info, the claim will be processed within 30 days.

If the claim is approved, amount will be transferred within 30 days.

If the claim is rejected, letter with details are to be shared with Insured.
