Critical features of New India Floater Mediclaim Policy
- Room rent:
Limits imposed towards room and ICU rent expenses
- Room Rent - 1% of the Sum Insured.
- ICU - 2% of the Sum Insured.
- No Claim Bonus:
Health Insurance policies may offer Cumulative Bonus wherein for every claim free year, the Sum Insured is increased by a certain percentage at the time of renewal
This plan does not have no claim bonus benefits.
- Co-Pay:
Specific % of admissible claim amount to be borne by Insured
- If treatment is availed in a zone other then designated zone, then 80% of the admissible claim amount or the sum insured, whichever is less, will be paid.
- Premium loading up to 2% per year after age 65
- 10% of sum insured or Rs 50,000, whichever is less - Limit for Cataract Treatment for each eye.
- External congenital diseases - limited to 10% of the average Sum Insured in the preceding four years
- Pre-Existing Diseases:
Means any condition, ailment or injury or related condition(s) for which you had signs or symptoms, and / or were diagnosed, and / or received medical advice/ treatment, within 48 months prior to the first policy issued by the insurer
- This plans has a waiting period of 4 years is case of a pre-existing diseases.
- 2 years waiting period for internal congenital diseases undiagnosed till the time of buying an insurance.
- 4 years waiting period for external congenital diseases
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Age of Entry:- Children- 3 months to 25 years/Adult-18 years
- Maximum age of Entry:- 65 Years
- Sum Insured:- 2 Lacs to 8 Lacs
- Policy Tenure:- 1 Year
- Family Definition:- Family Floater - Self, Spouse, Dependent Children, Dependent Parent (Parents can be insured max. upto 60yrs).
- Premium Calculated on Basis of:- Age, Zone(i.e. sum Insured Chosen)
Add-ons
Critical illnesses:- If during the Period of Insurance any Insured Person discovers that he/she is suffering from any Critical Illness as listed below, we will pay flat 10% of Sum Insured as additional benefit i.e. other than the admissible claim:
- Cancer
- First Heart attack of specified severity
- Open chest CABG
- Open Heart replacement or repair of Heart valves
- Coma of specified severity
- Kidney failure requiring regular dialysis
- Stroke resulting in permanent symptoms
- Major organ / bone marrow transplant
- Permanent paralysis of limbs
- Motor neurone disease with permanent symptoms
- Multiple sclerosis with persisting symptoms
Exclusions
- Dental treatment except arising out of accident.
- Debility and General Run down Conditions
- Sexually transmitted diseases and HIV (AIDS)
- Circumcision, Cosmetic surgery, Plastic surgery unless required to treat injury or illness
- Vaccination and Inoculation
- Pregnancy, ailments related thereto and child birth
- War, Act of foreign enemy, ionising radiation and nuclear weapon.
- Treatment outside India
- Naturopathy
- Domiciliary Treatment
- Experimental or unproven treatment
- All external equipments such as contact lenses, cochlear implants etc
- Medical Expenses relating to any hospitalisation primarily and specifically for diagnostic, X-ray or laboratory examinations and investigations
