Star Health Gain Health Insurance Plan is an inpatient hospitalization policy, admission as an inpatient for a minimum period of 24hrs is required, except for day care treatments.

Critical features of Star Allied Health Gain Plan
- Room rent:
Limits imposed towards room and ICU rent expenses
- Class A cities- 2% of sum insured up to a maximum of Rs 4000 per day
- Class B cities- 1% of sum insured up to a maximum of Rs 3000 per day
- For other locations- 1% of the sum insured up to a maximum of Rs 1000.
- Co-Pay:
Specific % of admissible claim amount to be borne by Insured
This plan does not have co payment clause
- No Claim Bonus:
Health Insurance policies may offer Cumulative Bonus wherein for every claim free year, the Sum Insured is increased by a certain percentage at the time of renewal
This plan offer no claim bonus Benefits,However after no claim 10% discount on premium
- Pre-Existing Diseases:
Means any condition, ailment or injury or related condition(s) for which you had signs or symptoms, and / or were diagnosed, and / or received medical advice/ treatment, within 48 months prior to the first policy issued by the insurer
This plans has a waiting period of 4 years is case of pre-existing diseases
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum Age of Entry:- 5 months
- Maximum age of Entry:- 65 years
- Renewal Age:- Life Long Renewal
- Sum Insured:-
Up to Age 45 years 1 Lakh to 5 lakhs
Up to Age 55 years 1 Lakh to 4 lakhs
Above Age 56 Years- 1 Lakhs to 3 lakhs
- Policy Tenure:- 1 year
- Premium Calculated on Basis of:- Age, (i.e. sum Insured Chosen)
Waiting Period
- Covered from Day 1:
Accidental Injuries.
- Covered after 30 Days:
All incidences apart from specified surgeries, Permanent exclusion & Pre-existing diseases (if any)
- Covered after 1 Year:
Benign Prostate Hypertrophy, Hernia, Hydrocele, Congenital Internal disease/defect, Fistula in anus, Piles, Sinusitis and related disorders gallstones and renal stone removal
- Covered after 2 Years:
Cataract, Hysterectomy for Menorrhagia or Fibromyoma, Knee Replacement Surgery (other than caused by an accident), Joint Replacement Surgery (other than caused by an accident), Prolapse of inten/ertibral disc(other than caused by accident), Varicose veins and Varicose ulcers
Exclusions
- Expenses arising out of or attributable to alcohol or drug use/misuse/abuse
- Medical expenses incurred for treatment of AIDS
- Treatment arising from or traceable to pregnancy and childbirth, miscarriage, abortion and its consequences
- Congenital disease
- Tests and treatment relating to infertility and in vitro fertilization.
- War, riot, strike, nuclear weapons induced hospitalization.
- Expenses attributable to self-inflicted injury (resulting from suicide, attempted suicide)
- Expenses arising out of or attributable to alcohol or drug use/misuse/abuse
- Cost of spectacles/contact lenes,dental treatment
- Medical Expenses relating to any hospitalisation primarily and specifically for diagnostic, X-ray or laboratory examinations and investigations
Note: Any claims arising out of or attributable to any of the following are not covered.
Tax Benefits
The premium paid for health insurance policy is liable to get a tax rebate under section 80D of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
